Description

The Lexington Public Library Digital Studio provides library customers with access to cutting edge video, photo and graphics editing programs. Our staff teaches classes in a wide variety of computer graphics, video, and audio applications, as well as website creation. We have a fully functioning green screen room for video shoots and a sound editing booth for musicians.

The studio is a place where aspiring filmmakers can learn to take their ideas from inception to completion, where photographers and digital artists make their unique vision reality, a place for musicians to create and edit their own music and where web designers and digital communicators share it all with the world.  It’s also a place for people who simply want to restore and preserve precious historic and family media. It’s a place where people of all ages and levels of knowledge can create, share and encourage each other. There is no charge for any of the classes or for use of the equipment: www.lexpublib.org/events/digitalstudio

Outcomes

In the five years the studio has been operating, hundreds of people of all ages and skill levels have used its resources to create their own music videos, animated films, marketing videos, business or personal websites, and digital photo albums. The studio has made it possible for people who cannot afford advanced digital equipment to exercise their creativity and advance their digital knowledge: www.lexpublib.org/events/digitalstudio.
