Urban Libraries Council Names New Executive Board Officers and Members

The Urban Libraries Council elected its 2022-2023 Executive Board during its Annual Member Business Meeting held earlier this week. Newly named ULC Executive Board officers, who will be serving one-year terms include:

  • Karl Dean (Former Mayor, Nashville) as Chair
  • Roosevelt Weeks (Director, Austin Public Library) as Vice Chair/Chair-Elect
  • Michelle VonderHaar (Deputy General Counsel, HP Inc.) as Secretary/Treasurer
  • Dr. Mary J. Wardell-Ghirarduzzi (President, San Francisco Public Library Commission; Vice President, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, University of the Pacific) as Immediate Past Chair

Following the election, the ULC Executive Board also welcomed two new members who will be serving two-year terms:

  • Heidi Daniel (President and CEO, Enoch Pratt Free Library)
  • Grace Nordhoff (Philanthropist)

Both bring extensive experience and a deep commitment to our shared mission of creating meaningful, positive change for public libraries and the communities we serve.”
