Northwest Arkansas Democrat Gazette: "Central Arkansas Library System warns that digital book pricing isn’t sustainable"

"Three weeks ago, five library organizations issued a joint statement directed at the five largest publishers and digital providers."

"The groups -- the Association for Rural and Small Libraries, Chief Officers of State Library Agencies, Canadian Urban Libraries Council, Public Library Association, and Urban Libraries Council -- said that the terms under which libraries license digital books is 'increasingly unsustainable.'"

"It said many libraries are spending 50% or more of their collections budgets 'on disappearing, limited-access content,' which gives them 'less ability to support lesser-known authors and smaller publishers.'"
