Community Resource Center @ West Las Vegas

Las Vegas- Clark County Library District

Workforce and Economic Development | 2026

Innovation Synopsis

Rooted in the Historic Westside—a community shaped by decades of underinvestment and limited access to economic opportunity—the West Las Vegas Library expands equitable economic mobility through a Community Resource Center supported by an Event Center and Business Incubation Center that together deliver hands-on workforce coaching, digital skill-building, small business support, and direct access to employment services. Its Innovation Lab, multimedia studios, and entrepreneurship programs give residents practical tools to develop advanced digital skills, launch businesses, and build career pathways. By integrating job readiness, creative production, business incubation, and wraparound support in a single neighborhood hub, the library empowers local workers, jobseekers, and entrepreneurs to thrive in a rapidly changing economy.

Challenge/Opportunity

The Community Resource Center is an innovative space designed to confront long standing barriers to economic mobility in the Historic Westside by expanding access to workforce development, digital skills, and entrepreneurial opportunity.
• Persistent barriers to economic mobility in the Historic Westside, limit access to career coaching, digital skills training, and small business support.
• Local workers and jobseekers need practical, no cost pathways to develop advanced digital skills, earn certifications, and connect with employers.
• Entrepreneurs and micro business owners face obstacles such as lack of workspace, technology, mentorship, and startup guidance.
