Teacher Lab: Library Literacy and Classroom Teacher

Join ULC member library, and recent 2018 winner of a Top Innovator award in the Education – Adults category, Brooklyn Public Library on October 30 for a webinar about their successful Teacher Lab program, a certified library skills and information literacy course designed to help K-12 teachers reconnect with their library. Teacher Lab began in a small classroom and in five years has grown to a free online course with an enrollment of more than 1600 teachers from over 20 states.

Amy Mikel, Coordinator of School Outreach and creator of the Teacher Lab, will provide the audience a behind-the-scenes look at the steps BPL took to develop this program and measure the impact on classroom teachers. Learn the fundamentals of developing workshops for K-12 teachers and receive step-by-step guidance in adapting strategies from the Teacher Lab to engage a new audience with your library; regardless of type, size or budget.
