ULC Co-Hosting Featured Webcast at the 2016 Families Learning Summit
On Monday, October 17, 11:00 am - 12:15 pm ET, ULC President and CEO Susan Benton will moderate a featured panel session, "Libraries + Schools + Communities = Powerful Programming for Family Learning," at the National Center for Families Learning's (NCFL) annual Families Learning Summit in Detroit, Michigan.
Sponsored by Better World Books, the session builds on concepts highlighted in ULC and NCFL's recently published Leadership Brief: Libraries Supporting Family Learning. Participants will learn how public library leaders, school leaders and partners in three communities are collaborating to provide opportunities for families to learn and serve together throughout the year via Family Service Learning and digital- and Maker- influenced blended learning approaches. Panelists will discuss their innovative engagement opportunities for all families — including disadvantaged parents and children — using a two-generation, family-focused approach.
All are encouraged to register for the Summit to join the ULC/NCFL session in person, and to participate in five additional concurrent sessions presented by library leaders and partners. Exciting keynote speakers and more than 100 sessions are available to attendees as well. NCFL's new grant opportunities specifically for libraries will be announced! There will also be an opportunity to join the session via live webcast — stay tuned for registration details!
