The Edmonton Public Library (EPL) project Capital City Records: Edmonton Local Music has been named 2016 recipient of the Canadian Library Association (CLA)/OCLC Award for Innovative Technology. Last week, the Nonprofit Technology Network (NTEN) announced the City Hosts for the second cohort of its Digital Inclusion Fellowship Program and ULC is proud to announce that ULC member libraries have been selected as Hosts in seven out of the eleven cities in the initiative. The cohort consists of 22 host organizations (two in each city) that are now accepting applications for Fellows to help build localized digital literacy and broadband adoption initiatives. Louisville Free Public Library (LFPL) was recently selected as the first place recipient of the 2016 LibraryAware Community Award presented by Library Journal and funded by LibraryAware, a product of EBSCO Publishing's NoveList Division. LFPL is one of five libraries to receive the award, which recognizes communities that engage with their libraries to improve the lives of their citizens and create lifelong learners and library users.
