Health, Wellness & Safety Top Innovator: Pima County Public Library
Through a partnership with its County Health Department, Pima County Public Library has innovated a powerful strategy to provide on-site intervention services to people in need. During the program's first year, library nurses interacted with more than 2,800 patrons, and 911 medical calls from libraries decreased by 20%.
The Tuscon Weekly led its coverage of the Top Innovator award with "Be proud, Pima County: your libraries are doing things right." Local NPR affiliate, Arizona Public Media, broadcast this interview with two library nurses!
