Sustaining Membership

Dues level $14,000 per year through 2008.

All the rights, privileges and information of a Regular Membership, with these additional benifits:

  • A one-time benefit of up to three days of consulting by ULC staff at no charge other than expenses.

  • Up to 20% of dues amount in reimbursement credits, which may be applied to cover the expenses of trustees or staff of the member library for ULC meetings, symposiums or workshops . This benefit must be used within twenty-four months of the date dues are paid. If any amount is not used within this time period, it reverts to a general revenue status within the budget. If Sustaining Membership expires, the member library loses all remaining accumulated benefits.

  • Each year, members at this level are invited to participate in a discussion with the Executive Board on the broad issues affecting library directors, trustees, and others involved in the library world. Additionally, a variety of special events are scheduled periodically for Sustaining Members only.

Use of travel benefits is left to the discretion of the member library director within organization guidelines. In general, travel benefits for Sustaining members can be used for attendance at ULC events and other programs and events that may not be directly related to the ULC, but would be helpful for continuing education and staff development for the director and/or staff.
