Description:

Experience. Education. Advocate: The New Haven Free Public Library is hosting the replica of a solitary confinement cell, allowing members of the public to witness the experience of more than 80,000 Americans who are held in solitary confinement on any given day. This important community-wide effort, “Inside the Box,” will help deepen the understanding of solitary confinement, educate the public about its use in the U.S. prison system and advocate for humane treatment of prisoners.
