ULC European Library Tour
October 6 - 11, 2008

This fall, ULC will lead an exciting tour of four incredible public library systems in the Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden. The tour will include visits to the architecturally stunning, recently opened, new central library in Amsterdam (OMA) and the Library Concept Center in Delft.  Participants will then travel to Denmark where we will meet Danish colleagues and participate in an international conference and symposium called: The Smart City and Its Libraries, hosted by the Copenhagen Public Libraries.  In Copenhagen, we will meet up with globe-trotting librarians from Australia who will also participate in the symposium. Following the one and a half day conference and city tour, we will take a bus to Sweden to visit the beautiful Malmo Public Library. Registration for this conference is now open and the fee will include library tours, the symposium, most meals and some ground travel. Participants will be expected to pay and arrange their own round trip air travel between the U.S. and Amsterdam and between Amsterdam and Copenhagen. Denmark to experience the arts at Culture Night in Copenhagen
