The Edge Benchmarks Version 1.0 is now available! These Benchmarks are the driving force behind the Edge Initiative, which includes best practices, tools and resources that support continuous improvement and drive reinvestment toward public technology. Edge will help library leaders engage staff and local government officials by demonstrating how the use of public computers helps achieve community goals.
The Edge Benchmarks Version 1.0 has been two-years in the making. El Paso Public Library, TX, was a field-test site for the beta benchmarks and Director of Libraries Dionne Mack offers this perspective on her library's experience, "The Edge Initiative provides a clearly expressed, measurable path to excellence that can be easily understood by non-library decision makers. The benchmarks are a timely tool that will surely help to advance the important work of public libraries."
Stay tuned for more information about Edge, and find out how your library can get involved!
