Civic & Community Engagement Top Innovator: LAPL

To help meet the needs of its immigrant population, Los Angeles Public Library has partnered with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service and other non-profit organizations to help residents with obtaining their citizenship. "Citizenship Corners" were established in all of the library's 73 outlets last year, and since then thousands of residents have used the centers to obtain information and resources, access study materials and learn more about the immigration process via the web.
