ULC ELECTS BOARD MEMBERS, OFFICERS

Urban Libraries Council (ULC) elected three officers and seven Board members during their annual meeting held June 28 in Washington, D.C. 

Elected to office for one-year terms are Chair Andrew Blau, Director, Benton Foundation Communications Policy Project; Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect Susan Kent, City Librarian, Los Angeles Public Library; and Secretary/Treasurer Elliot Shelkrot, President and Director, Free Library of Philadelphia.

Elected to the Board for two-year terms in director positions are Jim Fish, Director, Baltimore County Public Library and Edward Szynaka, Director, Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library, in addition to Kent and Shelkrot.  Elected to the Board for a one-year term in a director position is Dan Bradbury, Director, Kansas City Public Library, completing the 1997-99 term of the late Robert Croneberger.

In addition to filling the director positions, ULC members elected Dianne Sautter, President, Chicago Children’s Museum, and Blau to two-year terms in public member’s positions.
